Little Hands Bilingual Education is California state licensed family child care home, providing care to children ages 17 months to 5 years old. Our goal is to provide excellence in our academic program, a safe environment, and enjoyable activities every day. We believe our program will help your child develop academically, emotionally, and socially that prepares them for a successful and happy future.
Education through play!
We want our children to learn, play, and grow in a safe, loving environment. We want our daycare to be one that children love attending and parents love visiting. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit and participate in our program activities when is required (Mother’s Day, Halloween Party, Christmas Morning with Santa, Pic Nic Day, Graduation).
As a small preschool, we provide a warm, family environment , creating a close sense community where each child and family feels valued and supported. This warm environment helps children successfully to build strong relationships with peers and educators alike.
Our Bilingual Education approach helps children learn the Spanish language and appreciate different cultures, setting them up for success in today’s global world. We’re all about helping each child reach their full potential.
About Us

Miss Laura or Miss Elena, like everyone calls me in the childcare area, was Born in 1980. Latin American woman, married and mother of two amazing teenagers.
I was born in San Diego, CA., from Mexican parents with French ancestry and raised in Ensenada, B.C. Mexico. At the year 2000 I’d moved to Tijuana, B.C. Mexico to study university. I received my degree in Communications from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California -UABC-. Also study Child Development in Southwestern College and several Diplomas of Early Childhood Education.
I’m passionate about childcare, and I have more than 20 years of experience caring for children. With my professional experience and certifications in First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Prevention and recently completed Teaching Pyramid courses by the SAN DIEGO QUALITY PROGRAM INITIATIVE SDQPI.
I’m highly accomplished in teaching both educational and intentional play activities designed to develop children’s’ psychological, emotional, behavioral, and social skills. Each year I improved my knowledge by taking business and child behaviors courses. I learned at an early age the importance of values, family, education, dedication and hard work, which have helped me open doors and lead me to achieve some of my goals and dreams.
I worked for almost 10 years as a English Teacher at Kindergym Mexico that is a Gymboree extension of Kindergarten and Early Stimulation in Tijuana B.C. Mexico. By the year 2015 I decided to open opportunities and expand borders as a great challenging experience and work in the Childcare provider area in two wonderful Small Family Daycares in San Diego California (Lulus Montessori and Adventures in Montessori) that gave me wonderful experiences that will never forget.
By the age of 40 I decided to open the opportunity of my life by creating in my mind the idea to open my own Daycare and making my dream come true by taking the risk from being an employee to being a business owner, i took the big challenger decision to open Little Hands Bilingual Education in 2022, where we focus to provide quality education, excellence in childcare, service, values, everything in a safe and nurturing environment making emphasis in the importance of learning Spanish as a second language.
Immediately next year open, our STAFF of teachers join us in our Bilingual Program to enrich and strengthen our quality with extra clases like Music, Art, Yoga, Early Speech practice, pre written and pre math skills clases going on all week long.

Our Program
Little Hands Bilingual Education offers an enriched curriculum that includes our preschool based on Montessori and Reggio principles.
Montessori appreciation philosophy, exercises in practical life, sensorial, pre mathematics, pre writing, dual immersion program (spanish language), arts, yoga, early stimulation and music.
Our diversity and bi cultural awareness education is selected carefully for their love of learning in a fun way, respecting every material in class, and enriching their learning experiences thru imaginative play.

CIRCLE TIME:
Early Stimulation classes are uniquely and intentionally designed for early childhood development. Our teachers support your child as they spend uninterrupted time together, creating a safe space to play, explore and learn. Play is a fundamental component of early childhood education, and is the cornerstone of every one of our programs. Through play-based learning, your child is challenged physically, cognitively and socially.

Benefits:
Physical: Challenging walkers to explore physical movements like climbing, crawling, and balancing supports healthy muscle and bone development.
Cognitive: Repetition, songs, and interacting with their familiar adult supports language development, vocabulary, and memory.
Social: Our classroom environment supports little ones with building confidence and feeling more comfortable in unknown places.
MUSIC CLASS:
What to expect in class:
Experience music from all around the world, music from both past and present, near and far! From The Beatles to Bach! children will delight in the sound of instruments, and “singing” through musical baby talk. They’ll enjoy being sung to, experiencing new sounds and the anticipation of surprise!
Benefits:
Physical: Sensory exploration time is supported while children practice their motor skills.
Cognitive: Music-play helps activate parts of the brain responsible for music and speech processing. It creates an early appreciation of music and supports language development.
Social: Through music, you can hear and feel emotions. Tunes can be happy, sad, or angry! This supports social development in understanding emotions in a new way.

MONTESSORI APPROACHED:
The Montessori approach to education requires that children are placed in a well-planned and structured environment which will meet their individual educational and cultural needs. The children are free to follow their own interests within this planned environment, rather than being forced to learn something that is inappropriate to their developmental stage. The result is that children develop in a natural way and are highly motivated. They develop good discipline and master basic skills, and in many cases earlier than in a more traditional system of education.
To bring about these results the teacher is trained in specific skills, the curriculum is carefully planned to reflect the children’s own culture and educational needs, the support materials for the curriculum are specifically Montessori. Practical Life experiences is the main purpose of our Program in Little Hands.

YOGA CLASS:
Teaching yoga to kids is a wonderful way to help them build physical and emotional strength, from self-esteem, to muscle strength, to better posture, to improve concentration. By practicing yoga, kids can learn about staying in the moment while practicing relaxation techniques that will help them improve their emotional health and impulse control. By having a greater sense of emotional regulation, a child can develop a more positive self-image over time.
ART CLASS:
Children who receive art instruction can develop their creativity, fine motor skills, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and confidence, among other things. It also gives kids a way to express and comprehend their feelings and fosters critical thinking and emotional intelligence. Arts and crafts provide a fun and interactive way for children to practice things like their fine motor skills and their problem-solving capabilities.

EARLY SPEECH CLASSES:
Early speech classes for toddlers can significantly benefit their development by improving communication skills, boosting self-esteem, enhancing social interaction, and laying a strong foundation for future learning, as they can better express their needs, understand others, and participate more actively in their environment; early intervention also tends to be more successful in addressing speech issues.
WALDORF APPROACH:
The Waldorf approach, is a holistic educational philosophy that focuses on developing the whole child through a balance of intellectual, artistic, and practical skills. The approach is based on the belief that children are three-fold beings, made up of mind, spirit, and body, and that education should prepare them for a life of purpose. This philosophy approaches to nature education encourages children to connect with the natural world through exploration and outdoor activities. Time in nature helps children develop curiosity, which is the essence of science.

PRE WRITING SKILLS
Pre-writing skills benefit children by developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, cognitive abilities like planning and sequencing, and overall confidence, making it easier for them to transition into writing letters and words later on; essentially laying the foundation for successful writing development. This is our main bilingual language approach class
Phonological awareness
Understanding that words English and Spanish are made up of smaller sounds, and that those sounds can be changed. You can encourage this skill by singing songs and rhymes, playing word games, and reading rhyming books.
Our Team
We believe our biggest success at Little Hands Bilingual Education is our staff. Passionate, dedicated, and loving, teachers love their work and it shows in everything they do. A beautiful classroom is nothing without great teachers and great teachers are the foundation for the achievements of the school and the well-being of the students.
Our STAFF carefully observes the children in her class to ascertain the developmental needs of each individual child. Then comes the task of preparing the environment and the materials in it to meet the various needs of the individual children within the group. As the children begin to make free choices using Montessori Philosophy approach, they interact and discover the materials, the teacher facilitates and guides their learning. There are some small group lessons when the teacher introduces new concepts and encourages the children to ask questions, investigate and discover new ideas.
As a result, children who experience a Pre Writing Skills, Speech Class, Early Stimulation, Pre Math Skills, Music and Yoga Class are motivated and learn to be independent, self-confident and self-disciplined. It makes education a source of pleasure for them – something to be sought and enjoyed. Each and all are given the opportunity to develop their own innate abilities to the full potential in an atmosphere where competition is irrelevant and non-existent. As a result they develop drive and a high level of achievement.
